Sciatica is a pain caused by pressure on the sciatic nerve (the biggest of all the nerves , with branches throughout the lower body and legs) as it leaves the spinal cord. The pressure is generally caused by either a prolapsed disc or spondylosis. Yo may feel a burning pain sensation shooting into your buttocks and down along the back of your thigh. If you cough, sneeze, or try to bend your back, the pain worsens.
